This is my third, essential on-demand workshop after the “Lizard vs Wizard Brain” and “Fear Regulation: Going from Critical Voice to Kind Voice” classes. It looks at people who have a harder time onboarding their wizard brain.
This class details Dr. Robert Firestone’s research and life work after living in community for 40+ years and watching what he calls a “psychological equilibrium” develop in people which can prevent or slow self-growth.
Technically called his “Separation Theory,” the idea is that we all develop an 1. Inner critical voice and 2. Fantasy bond (illusions of connection) to varying degrees of intensity which help protect us when faced with the pain of living. Created before the volumes of neuroscience research now available, he intuitively explains what is happening for a difficult person who doesn’t have an integrated lizard brain and runs on “diesel fuel.” (Consider watching the first two on-demand workshops to better understand the terms lizard brain and diesel fuel.)
You would watch this class if you want to know why difficult people are difficult!
And to reflect on the way these two mechanisms wreak havoc in your own life.
Heidi has a specific 4 x 4 workshop (4 clients for 4 hours in an online group,) where she helps each participant identify their mechanisms and how to work with them to better integrate and strengthen the wizard brain.
